Ribble Valley trio Emily Yeoman, Maddison McKenna and Emma Bradley played a key role as Lancashire won the PlayStation ESFA Girls’ Under 14 National Final at Northampton Town’s Sixfields Stadium, beating Essex 2-0 on penalties after a goal-less draw.

Emily and Maddison are both pupils at Ribblesdale High School, while Emma attends St Augustine’s, Billington.

Emma was the goalkeeper in the penalty shootout, helping claim a famous win for the Red Rose county.

The first six penalties were all missed in the shootout, before Lancashire netted their final two to lift the trophy.

Lancashire reached the final after coming through four rounds unscathed.

They beat South Yorkshire 6-1 in the quarter-finals, before a 3-0 success against Merseyside in the last four of the competition.
