Readstone United show off new kit in final match

Readstone United Under 11s Red are pictured in their new kit before their final game of the season at Barnoldswick Barons (s).

The Reds were 4-0 down by half-time, and went on to lose 5-2, with Reece Arkwright and Harry Pilkington on target.

United’s Under 8s Yellow had a convincing 10-1 victory over Colne Juniors in their last game. Charlie Nowell and Owen Parker both scored hat-tricks, Alex Morrisey added two, and Toby Pilkington and Jimmy Wild also netted.

The Under 9s Yellow were beaten 2-1 in the final of the Consolation Cup by Brierfield Celtic.

Readstone created numerous goalscoring opportunities, but on the day left their shooting boots at home.

The goalscorer was Harry Burrows, who was also named man of the match.

However, the Under 10s Yellow beat Barrowford Celtic Whites 3-1 in the League Cup Final.

The goalscorers were Lee Wild with a brace, and Oliver Crew.

The man of the match award went to Morgan Crowther. The team deserve praise for their efforts this season for not only winning the cup but also finishing runners-up in the league.
