Moorland School has unearthed a rising star from the Far East, with midfield dynamo Jay Haddow signing for Blackburn Rovers.
Thirteen-year-old Jay, a Year 8 student at the Clitheroe School, arrived from Hong Kong in September, and his performances soon had Rovers’ scouts beating a path to Moorland.
Now he has landed a two-year scholarship.
Charlie Jackson, head of football development at Moorland, said: “It is a great reward for him, from day one he has demonstrated his talent and willingness for hard work.”
Jay said: “My dream is to play professional football in England, so to join a club with such a big tradition, makes me very proud.”
