Mellish’s Blues are set for pre-season

Clitheroe will open their pre-season schedule at Shawbridge a week on Saturday against Blackburn Rovers Under 23s.

Damien Johnson will bring his young Rovers side to town for a 3 p.m. kick-off, before new Blues boss Stuart Mellish takes his charges on the road.

Clitheroe are at Little Wembley to face Nelson on Saturday, July 14th, kick-off 3 p.m., before Shawbridge plays host to Bolton Wanderers Under 23s on Wednesday, July 18th, with kick-off at 7-45 p.m.

On Saturday, July 21st, Clitheroe are at Hyde United, again at 3 p.m.,and the following Tuesday sees a trip to Irlam, at 7-45 p.m..

An Accrington Stanley XI take on the Blues at Shawbridge on Saturday, July 28th (3 p.m.), and the Blues are back to Manchester to face West Didsbury and Chorlton on Tuesday, July 31st, with an earlier kick-off time of 7-15 p.m.

Pre-season is rounded off by consecutive home games against Mellish’s former club Warrington Town on Friday, August 3rd (7-45 p.m.), and then Farsley Celtic on Saturday, August 11th (3 p.m.).

l Mellish has added RickWard to his staff at Clitheroe, as goalkeeping coach.

The pair worked together at Warrington Town.

l Season ticket prices have been frozen again, with savings available until July 31st.

Pre-season prices are again £125 for adults, a saving of £15, and £75 for concessions, a saving of £10.

Season tickets will allow free admission to the club’s pre-season home friendlies, as well as to the 19 home league fixtures.

They will be available at any of the friendlies and at Banana News on Castle Street throughout the summer.
