Madejski Stadium date for Ribblesdale in ESFA Cup Final

A date and venue has been set for Ribblesdale High School’s English Schools’ FA Boys’ Under 15s PlayStation Open Schools’ Cup Final.

The Clitheroe school will face Coombe Boys’ School of Surrey at Championship side Reading’s Madejski Stadium on May 20th, kick-off 9-30 a.m.

After a bye, Ribblesdale beat local rival St Augustine’s, Billington 5-1 in the second round, with goals from Simon Wharton, Josh Tetley, Ben Hartley and two from Owen Gould.

Then followed a 3-1 success at St John Fisher of Harrogate and Craven, courtesy of Max Cane and a brace from James Billington.

A solitary goal from captain Scott Wilson earned victory at Christleton High School in Chester, before Ribblesdale beat Malet Lambert School of Kingston upon Hull 2-1 in the last eight at Blackburn Rovers’ Academy, with goals from Hartley and Gould.

In the semi-final, Ribblesdale saw off Cardinal Langley RC School, Manchester 5-1, with Gould (2), Wilson, Cane and Wharton on target.
