Football banning orders were handed down by Preston Crown Court earlier this week after arrests were made following the Championship game against Sheffield Wednesday at Turf Moor in January 2014.

The trouble occurred at Burnley Miners Club in Plumbe Street, and 19 of those found guilty of violent disorder have been given prison sentences ranging from five to 22 months.

Lee Hoos, Chief Executive of Burnley Football Club, said: “It is our intention to give lifetime bans to all of those involved in this mindless act of violence.

“Naturally, we will crosscheck our database and put these bans in place.

“These people are clearly not fans and there is no place for them at Burnley Football Club.”
