With six of the seven players in the blue team having been with the club for three years, they had waited a long time to test their skills.
The Blues’ first game was against Mill Hill Boys, and the locals were quickly into their passing game in a 9-0 win.
The next game against Globe Reds went along the same lines, as the Blues raced into a 3-0 lead, before emerging 5-1 winners to top their group.
The next group of games saw Langho up against Mellor and Fulledge Colts, and both games followed the same pattern with Langho falling a goal behind before winning 4-1 to move into the final against Globe first team and the team that had knocked out Langho Maroons, Crown Gold.
A very good Crown team provided a real test but Langho proved too strong in a 5-2 win, earning praise from the watching Manchester City scouts.
Globe then beat Crown 5-3, leading to a decider, which Langho won 5-3 to seal the title.
