For the third time in succession Sean Dyche's side opened up a two-goal lead at the Theatre of Dreams, but this time they held out to claim three points. Chris Wood scored his 10th goal of the season when beating David De Gea at his near post in the 39th minute. Jay Rodriguez then thumped the ball home off the underside of the crossbar in front of the Stretford End before the hour.

Integral in preventing United's midfield three from dictating play. Ran his heart out to limit United's options in the middle of the park, continuously picked up the pieces and supplied the set-piece for Burnley's opener..
10. Jay Rodriguez 9
Chased absolutely everything that went in to the channels and didn't give the United defence the opportunity to turn on the ball and play out. Deserved his goal, which was an absolute rocket.
11. Chris Wood 8
Worked hard to make the ball stick and finished the game with a goal and an assist. Turned well off the shoulder of Maguire to give Burnley the lead and switched passes with Rodriguez for the second.
12. Matt Lowton 8
Had to contend with two combinations down his side of the pitch - firstly Williams and James and then Shaw and Lingard. Dealt with both very well, particularly after the break, but his distribution in the first half let him down at times.
