The 21-goal forward has been linked with numerous Premier League sides during January, as well as Scottish champions Celtic.

The latest club believed to be interested are West Brom, who, under new Spanish boss Pepe Mel, were reported to be preparing a multi-million pound bid for the England Under 21 international.

The report read: “Burnley have told Premier League suitors that they must pay £7million to sign Championship hotshot Danny Ings.”

But, as the club have stated before and during the window, they will not countenance a move, and Dyche again said this morning: “Danny won’t be going anywhere.

“The board and the club have been honest and open throughout - there’s nothing in it all as usual.

“There is going to be speculation - it’s a good sign of players doing well - but he’s not going anywhere.”

Dyche, however, remains hopeful of adding to the capture of striker Ashley Barnes from Brighton, tomorrow’s visitors to Turf Moor, ahead of 11 p.m. on Friday night: “There are a few bits and bobs going on, but we have to align them financially.

“We’re keeping an eye on a couple of situations that may change, but there are no guarantees.”

Burnley were linked with a move for Oldham Athletic’s 21-year-old centre back James Tarkowski over the weekend, but Dyche admits he is looking to strengthen other areas of the squad before he turns his attentions to the heart of the second-meanest defence in the Championship: “We know of the player, and he is a good, young player, but other areas remain our priority.”

It was reported on Friday that Burnley and League 1 promotion hopefuls Brentford had made offers for the young Mancunian, who came through the ranks at Boundary Park, but the story appeared to have jumped the gun, with the Bees denying making a bid, and the Clarets, while having had the player watched, not making a concrete offer either.

Oldham hope to secure Tarkowski to a new contract.
