Half-time teamtalk reaps dividends for Clarets

Clarets boss Sean Dyche's half-time teamtalk reaped dividends as Burnley came from behind to win 3-2 at Fulham.

Burnley led through a Sam Vokes header, but Fulham roared back to lead at the break through Ross McCormack and Mousa Dembele.

And it could have been worse but for a vital save from Tom Heaton from Tom Cairney right before the interval.

A Vokes penalty squared things in the second half, and a rasper from Andre Gray earned a fifth-successive win.

Dyche said: "It gives me belief in how we operate as much as anything because you can't guarantee the outcome of every game, but you look to guarantee the way the team operate, and it started very well, but Fulham were the better side for the next half hour, simple as that.

"They created more chances, they kept the ball better, and then Tom (Heaton) makes an important save right before half-time.

"Yet again we gave the ball away sloppily, they counter, and it's a very important save.

"Then at half-time I reminded the players why we are doing what we are doing, all the good things they do, the stats, the fact Fulham concede a lot of goals, and I said 'we will score goals'.

"And really reinforced what we are about, there would have been talk of after the Lord Mayor's Show after beating Blackburn, and I was really pleased we shook that off, hot on the front foot and really gripped the game."
