New Blus boss Simon Garner felt his side deserved more than a point following the 1-1 draw with Lancaster City at the Giant Axe Stadium.
A late penalty from Scott Bakkor earned Clitheroe a share of the spoils against the 10 man Dolly Blues after Glenn Steel’s header had given the hosts a first half lead.
City’s Gavin Clark was given his marching orders for denying Bakkor a clear goal-scoring opportunity in the 80th minute, with the striker picking himself up and nonchalantly dispatching the penalty.
“It’s going well at the moment and it was a good result but we felt we could’ve won it on the balance of the game.
“We conceded a sloppy goal through our own defensive frailties when failing to pick up our men but apart from that we restricted them.
“We had total control in the first half but couldn’t score and we performed really well in the second half where we got a deserved equaliser with the penalty.”
