Former Blues winger Danny Williams was on the scoresheet as Inverness Caledonian Thistle progressed to the fifth round of the Scottish Cup on Tuesday night.

The 26-year-old, who moved to Shawbridge from FC United in 2010, netted his side’s third goal in a 4-0 win in their replay against SPL rivals St Mirren.

Gary Warren headed the opener for Caley in the 20th minute before Greg Tansey made it 2-0 from the penalty spot just minutes later.

Williams, who had been thwarted by Mark Ridgers earlier in the tie, made amends for that miss in the 67th minute when firing home after Billy McKay rattled the bar.

It was Williams’ second goal for the club after he scored the only goal of the game against Aberdeen at Pittodrie Stadium in January.

And Graeme Shinnie rounded off the scoring in the 90th minute to set up a tie with Partick Thistle on February 7th, 2015.
