Andre Gray netted a late leveller to cancel out Raul Navas' first half header, for his ninth goal in six pre-season outings.

And Dyche felt the Primera Liga technicians were a useful benchmark before opening the Premier League campaign at home to Swansea City next Saturday.

He said: "It was perfect for what we needed at the end of pre-season. You’re never sure how these games pan out of the end of pre-season, but there was a good tempo to it.

"They’re an extreme version of what you find in the Premier League, with the manager being Barcelona B’s ex-manager.

"It’s good because some teams in the Premier League will play like that and you’re going to have spells without the ball.

"It’s how well you deal with those spells. We spoke to the players about that afterwards because that’s an important factor, how you can deal with having the ball, and how you create chances, and I thought we created enough, and then how you focus and concentrate when you haven't got the ball.

"That’s a big difference to the Championship, there’s a lot more turnovers of possession in the Championship, against teams at this level they keep the ball a lot better and they’re happy to keep the ball a long way from your goal even. Look at the chance count for them, it’s not very high, but they have a lot of possession and a feel for the game."
