Disco Ninjas hold onto five-a-side league title

Last Sunday saw the end of the current 5-a-side league at Roefield Leisure, where Disco Ninjas held onto their title, despite going down 5-1 to their closes rivals, Nottin.

After defeating Coping Badly 4-0 earlier on, Nottin had to beat Ninjas by six clear goals to take the title away from them.

A fast and furious start to the game saw both sides go close, however Nottin took the lead midway through the first half, but soon extended their lead just before half-time.

A mistake at the beginning of the second saw Ninjas pull a goal back, but then Nottin turned the screw, and relentlessly attacked the Disco Ninjas goal, adding 3 more leaving the Ninjas hanging on by a knife’s edge for the final two minutes of the game.

Chances fell to Nottin, three glorious opportunities, but they were denied by Disco’s manager and goalkeeper Phil Ridgway.

The new league is due to commence on Sunday, and for further information, please phone 01200 442188 or email ben@roefield.co.uk
