AN absolutely thrilling game saw Clitheroe Wolves Under 11s Reds triumph 2-1 over Mill Hill Under 11 Blues.

Wolves, showing off their new kits, missed a host of chances before a fabulous long-range strike from Taylor Wilson took Wolves into the lead in the run up to half-time.

Mill Hill went on the attack at the start of the second half with Prendergast making a save. Wolves counter-attacked with George Bland hitting the post and recovering in time to net the rebound off the keeper.

Connor Jackson and Taylor Wilson were both denied before Ben England’s strike spun off the outside of the post.

Further end-to-end action followed before Mill Hill again went on the offensive, but the Wolves defence refused to concede again in the final minutes.

Man-of-the-match was awarded to Kit Lloyd.
