ON a very heavy-going pitch, Clitheroe Wolves Under 11 Reds proved too strong for Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s.

Harry Jackson opened the scoring for Wolves and keeper James Prendergast ensured they stayed ahead with a good save before taking full control of the match.

Every effort of St Mary’s to break through was strongly defended by Taylor Wilson, Jamie Thornber and Joe Wilson.

Wolves completely dominated the second half. Joe Briggs struck from distance to increase the lead before Sam Pickles, Ben England, George Bland and Kit Lloyd were all denied due to the outstanding efforts of the St Marys keeper. England then added a third.

Man-of-the-match was awarded to Connor Jackson.
