Clitheroe Wolves go out on penalties

CLITHEROE Wolves Under 12s Reds were cruelly knocked out of the Lancashire Cup at the quarter-final stage on penalties.

James Prendergast made an early save before Harry Jackson and Connor Jackson went close at the other end.

Bolton Indians went ahead, before a further attack before half-time made it 2-0.

After the break, Wolves won two penalties, both converted by George Bland, levelling the game.

The pace gathered as the game was played out, but at full time the score remained level. The game went straight to penalties, but Wolves lost 6-5.

Man of the match was Prendergast.
