BLUES boss Paul Moore now has three friendlies remaining to assess his squad ahead of the new season.
Clitheroe entertain North West Counties Premier Division outfit Silsden AFC at Shawbridge on Saturday (kick-off at 3 p.m.) before signing off from their pre-season schedule with games against Welsh side Airbus UK (August 4th) and League Two’s Morecambe (August 6th).
Moore’s tenure has started in optimistic fashion, beating Maine Road 1-0 on home soil in his first game in charge.
In the 2-2 draw with Runcorn Linnets, Moore used a largely similar squad.
Danny Bell gave Clitheroe an early lead, which was doubled soon after as Alex Johnson raced on to Ollie Devenney’s through-ball before rounding the keeper.
A host of changes were made at the break, as Moore gave the vast majority of the matchday squad 45 minutes.
The visitors pulled a goal back midway through the second period, and equalised late on.
But then came a second clean sheet in three fixtures as the Blues beat Cheshire league side Barnton 2-0 at theior Townfield home.
Moore will now run the rule over his players in hope of shaping his side for the opening Evo-Stik First Division North fixture away at Garforth Town on Saturday, August 18th.
