Blues boss Paul Moore commended his squad’s achievements following a record-breaking campaign.
Clitheroe may have just missed out on a First Division North play-off spot, but a phenomenal term has seen the club beat their previous best in terms of position and points total
Moore’s side are seventh with 73 points ahead of Saturday’s trip to Trafford, and he said: “I’m over the moon to be honest because we’ve had a fantastic season. Nobody would’ve anticipated that we’d be pushing for the play-offs.
“To need 80 points to get in to the play-offs is unheard of.
“We’d have pushed into the top five in any other season. It shows how strong and competitive this division is.
“To be the most successful manager with the most successful side in the club’s history is fantastic and we’ve still got a game to go. It’s brilliant.
“Breaking records is great and we’re proud of that but we want to hit those play-offs and we want to do that next year.”
