Clarets defender Luke O’Neill has today joined Sky Bet League One side Leyton Orient on an emergency loan deal.
O’Neill, who penned a new two-year deal this summer and spent time at Scunthorpe United in a similar deal this season, will link up with the League One side until May 3rd.
The 22-year-old made 15 appearances for the Iron and will now join up with Clarets teammate Alex Cisak at Brisbane Road.
Previously, O’Neill spent the majority of the 2013-2014 campaign on loan at York City where he gained valuable experience, picking up 16 appearances and a solitary goal against eventual League Two champions Chesterfield.
He was recalled by the Clarets’ to be a part of the first-team squad for the FA Cup trip to Southampton in January before heading to Southend on a 30-day emergency loan but his time with the Shrimpers was cut short due to injury.
