Clarets bring the noise in hunt for away win

Burnley's dressing room spirit has helped put them in touching distance of Premier League survival.

But their dressing room music has left much to be desired for opposition ears!

Sam Vokes looks after the playlist, and the volume, which was ear-splitting at Swansea City, clearly audible before the game in the press room.

Even Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho took exception on the Clarets' goalless visit to Old Trafford.

Ahead of Sunday's trip to Anfield, centre back Michael Keane explained: "Jessie (Lingard) told me that the manager wasn't happy when we were at Old Trafford. But it worked didn't it!

"He's not a fan, not when it's that loud!

"Vokesy’s the DJ. Me and Boydy have a few tunes every now and again, we put some Stormzy on for Hull, but the lads weren’t having it at all.

"They switched it over so I think that’s gone now.

"Some of the lads are trying to get Ed Sheeran in, but I’m not sure that’s what you want before a game.

"The gaffer doesn’t say much about it, he lets the lads put on whatever we want, whatever gets us up for it."

Sean Dyche loves his music, as a fan of The Smiths, Kasabian and Foo Fighters among others, while he was once a regular at the Hacienda in Manchester.

But he stays out of what goes on the stereo: "Andre (Gray) brought in a system a year and a half ago and it’s got a little bit of kick to it, it’s fair to say!

"They listen to whatever they like. I’ve got two kids so a lot of the stuff they are listening to I’ve heard, just not the ones with the expletives in!

"If the players are happy and it helps them get ready to play then I’m all up for it.

"I stay well away from their pre-match music, but I do like some of it, some of it is really good actually.

"I was a late 80s/early 90s rave fan, believe it or not, we’ve all had our yesterdays!"

Burnley will hope to gain some motivation from their music for a first away win of the season at Liverpool, as well as draw on their win over the Reds at Turf Moor in August.

That 2-0 success was their first of the season, and set the stall out for their magnificent home form, and Keane admitted: "It was massive for us. It was only the second game in the season and it gave us the confidence we belonged in the Premier League.

"Both our strikers scored great goals and we kept a clean sheet. We came off the pitch really happy and it gave us the momentum and started our good run of home form. It’s been good ever since so I think that was a big step for us."

Burnley will go to Anfield as huge underdogs, however, and Keane added: "It could (be in our favour). We’ve had that a few times, we got a point at Old Trafford.

"No away game in the Premier League is easy, especially going to places like Anfield, it’s going to be difficult but we go there with belief that we can get a result as we do every away game, it’s just not happened for us yet. We feel like we can (get a result there) so we’ll have to see.

"We’re a team who are difficult to play against. No matter who comes up against us it’s not easy to roll us over and win 3-0 or 4-0.

"Teams can find it difficult to break us down the way we play and with our style of football so it doesn’t come as surprise to us when we get these results, it might to others, but in house we prepare meticulously for these games so it doesn’t surprise us."
