Sean Dyche is hoping to an a monumental season with another record-breaking win at Reading tomorrow.

Burnley have already won more games than ever before in a season - 26 - have their highest number of points - 92, and most away points in a season - 41.

Victory at the Madejski Stadium would also be a record 12th away win.

It would also hit Reading;s chances of making the play-offs, and Dyche said: “We’ve had some great historical markers - they are a natural by-product of the team doing well. We are in the history of the club now, and we want to chisel that in stone.”

Burnley ended Ipswich’s play-off hopes last week, and he hopes for a similar performance: “Having done the job in the bigger picture, the lads gave a great performance last weekend, and there’s no reason to doubt they will again.

“I won’t be changing my mantra, we are looking to enjoy the game, and the best way to do that is by winning.”

• Dyche revealed “the wheels are in motion” to try and get Chris Baird a Championship runners-up medal. Players have to appear in 25% of league matchday squads.
