Almost 150 people turned up at the Catholic Club in Clitheroe to celebrate another successful season for Rimington, and the retirement of long-serving manager Terry Braithwaite, who steps down after 15 trophy-laden seasons.
After chairman Paul Keighley thanked Terry for his efforts, longest-serving player and captain Graeme Kershaw presented Terry with a framed, signed shirt from the West Riding Cup Final win at Elland Road and signed photographs of the current squad.
Award winners were: First team – M.Bagot Young Player and Goal of the Season; G.Jackson Leading Goalscorer and Square Ball; O.McLean Player of the Season; A.Hutchinson Players’ Player; G.Kershaw Manager’s Award and Clubman.
Reserve team – T.Eglin Leading Scorer, Player of the Season and Manager’s Award; W.Jackson Goal of the Season; J.Hartlebury Square Ball; J.Wright Young Player and Players Player.
At the East Lancs League AGM, Terry won the Linesman of the Season and the Chairman’s Award for his contribution to the league over the years.
