Striker Sefton Gonzales is back at Clitheroe for a third spell.

The frontman scored 41 goals in 80 appearances for the Blues, and boss Simon Howarth is thrilled to welcome him back to Shawbridge.

Haworth said: “I’m delighted that we have completed the signing of Sefton. I believe he will be the physical presence we missed up top last year.

“I have no interest in what has gone before, all I know is that I’m excited at working with Sefton and making him the best player he can possibly be, not just this season but for his whole career so he can really fulfil his potential.”

Clitheroe will host an Accrington Stanley XI today (kick-off 3 p.m.).

The Blues are at Ashton Athletic on Tuesday (kick-off 7-45 p.m.).

Clitheroe lost 3-2 against Squires Gate on Saturday, after taking a 2-0 half-time lead through goals from Robbie Bromley and Kurt Willoughby.
