Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta hails 'remarkable' Burnley!
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has hailed the work of Sean Dyche as 'remarkable' ahead of their meeting at Turf Moor this weekend.
The Spaniard spoke of his 'admiration' for the Burnley boss and the success that he's brought to the club during his eight-and-a-half years in charge.
The Clarets are currently two-thirds of the way through their fifth successive season in the Premier League with two of those ending in top 10 finishes.
"I think it’s remarkable what the club, Sean and the coaching staff have done in recent years with the resources that they have, the style of play they have implemented and how well they execute it, how efficient they are," he said.
"It's admiration as a coach that he's able to get the best out of that group of players, the resources that they have as a club, to create the atmosphere that they do at that stadium.
"It's all credit to them because they believe in what they do. I think that's really nice for the English Premier League."
The former Rangers and Everton midfielder, who ended his playing career at the Emirates, is both winless and goalless in the games that he's overseen against Burnley.
The Gunners were held to a 0-0 draw away from home last season while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's own goal in December handed the Clarets their first away win against Arsenal since 1974.
Still, Arteta was highly complimentary about Burnley's style of play and the challenge that they pose in the top-flight.
"It is always really tough to play against them," said the Arsenal manager.
"At home it was a tricky game because we played with 10 men and we ended up losing on a set piece, which is a big part of the game, so hopefully we can have a very different result."
"I don't hate it. I quite enjoy it because it's what the Premier League is about, going into those grounds and making it happen, being able to compete against a style that is very defined and executed to perfection.
"That's a big credit. There's not one or two ways to play football, there are many ways to do it. They did it within the rules and there's nothing that is outside the rules and they do it really well.
"From my side, they merit much more credit for what they do than what they sometimes do."
