The prolific batsmen closed on 240-3 from 40 overs in their opening group game against South Ribble with Max Harrison posting 79 before adding 3-27 in their opponent’s 180-9 reply. Harry Rickard also finished unbeaten on 54.

The Ribble Valley Undfer 13s went higher still in their following fixture against Hyndburn, making 312-7 which put them out of sight.

Once again Max Harrison, who has been called up to the county’s under 13s squad, was the stand out performer when hitting a tremendous 103 and he was ably supported by Henry Procter and Henry Butterfield who scored 45 and 35 not out respectively.

Hammad Amin also contributed well with both bat and ball, chipping in with a knock of 33 before taking figures of 4-9 as Hyndburn were bowled out for 99.

Harry Rickard starred in the third group game against Rossendale as he top-scored with a tremendous 136 in his side’s 284-7 finish.

Ethan Salt added 48 runs to the innings before Rossendale finished on 173-5.

The Ribble Valley, coached by Tahir Amin of Clitheroe Cricket Club and assisted by Anthony Procter (Longridge CC), will take on the Wyre district in their final group game where victory will see them progress to the quarter-finals of the Lancashire section of the competition.
