Chatburn Cricket Club hands out honours

Chatburn Cricket Club held their annual presentation evening at the Brown Cow in Chatburn recently.

Chairman Joe Woodworth welcomed the players and friends ,thanking the committee, umpires, scorers and sponsors for their help throughout the season.

He congratulated the players on a very successful season, with the first team winning the Craven League Third Division, the second team finishing mid-table in the Fifth Division and the juniors, Chatburn Chiefs, having a fantastic season in the Under 13s’ league, finishing in third position in the Ribblesdale League.

The club expect to field an Under 15 side in the Ribblesdale League Junior Section during 2014.

There is also genuine optimism for next season with new players joining the club .

The trophy winners were as follows:

First Team Player of the Season and First Team batting award – Neil Cartledge (586 runs at 41.86).

First Team bowling award and Best Bowling Performance – Andy Booth (62 wickets at 13.23, best bowling 7/56).

First Team Fielding Award – Mark Braithwaite.

Second Team Player of the Season and Second Team bowling award – Chris Mulhearn (30 wickets at 16.27).

Second Team batting award – Damien Gupta (355 runs at 32.27).

Second Team fielding award – Clive Gawthorpe.

Best Batting Performance – Ben Threlfall (124).

Young Player of the Season – Dominic Stuart

Chiefs Player of the Season – Kit Lloyd.

Duck Award – Mick Coley

Chairman’s Award – Clive Gawthorpe

Clubman – Paul Whittaker.
