Clitheroe Cricket Club are looking for your support as they seek to make history in Sunday’s home Lancashire cup semi-final against Bootle.
For the second successive year, the Chatburn Road club have reached the last four of Lancashire cricket’s premier cup competiition.
And the current leaders are looking to become the first Ribblesale League side since 1975 to reach the final.
In the previous round, a raucous home crowd helped Clitheroe beat favourites Burnley.
With Clitheroe already having secured victories against strong Lytham and Leigh outfits in this years competition, skipper Paul Gaskell is hoping for more of the same on Sunday: “You don’t get poor sides reaching this stage of this competition but that counts for us too - we’ve got there on merit.
“Last season we got to the semi final for the first time and went to Ormskirk – who are also in the Liverpool Competition like Bootle – and they were a class side. It was difficult for us over there but this time we are at Chatburn Road and and we really believe having home advantage is a big thing for us.
“We’re expecting a big and noisy crowd but we’d like as many as possible to come and watch us.
“Burnley were everybody’s favourites to win it but we beat them on a great day for the club”.
Wickets are pitched at 1 p.m. A full bar will be in operation, BBQ and raffle, entry £2 fee.
