Clitheroe stay on track after latest win at Brooksbottom

Clitheroe, with a game in hand on leaders Settle, protected their 100% winning record in the league on Saturday with victory at Brooksbottom.

Aussie Peter Betros contributed 66 out of ‘Brox’s’ 147, as Ali Ross took 4-23 off four overs, professional Janaka Gunaratne added 3-43 off 5.1, and Marcus Sharp added 2-54 off seven, with Jack Dewhurst taking the other wicket.

In reply, Gunaratne’s latest half century – 57 off 34 balls - steered Clitheroe to a routine seven-wicket success within 28 overs.

Opener Dewhurst hit 38 off 52 balls, and Naeem Ashraf 30 off 34.

Clitheroe host Great Harwood on Saturday in the league, and entertain Star XI in the LCB Cup on Sunday.
