They were ready for this game and it showed as they scored their first goal with only five minutes on the clock.

Clitheroe pressed forward right from the whistle, which was their gameplan. Midfield of Box-Morton and Hough worked well to move the ball forward. Pressure from midfield created more chances and this pressure resulted in a goal from

The defence were not quick enough to close Middleton down and she made no mistake in putting the ball past the ‘keeper.

However, against the run of play, South Lakes capitalised on the confusion caused by an umpiring decision to draw level.

Clitheroe took command again in the second half and their third was worked all the way from the back.

Strong tackles from Hollingworth and Horrigan cleared the ball, leaving Morris to tee up Daye who picked out the corner.

Goal number four came from Box-Morten who converted after Erasmus and Hough had combined in the build-up.

The remainder of the match became a bit chaotic at times but Clitheroe held their nerve to see it out.

They made it 5-1 when Hough pushed a short corner out to Erasmus at the top of the D, a one-two with Box-Morten opened up the space and she fired home.

South Lakes grabbed a consolation goal in the final 10 minutes through sheer

Benson saved twice, Horrigan blocked twice, but eventually it was forced over the line.
