CLITHEROE Cobras Under 15s secured the club’s first silverware of the season with a cup final victory over local rivals Ribblesdale Wanderers.

Having been put in to bat, the Church Meadow team raced to a challenging 122 largely due to a blistering 70 from Mack Spencer who was ably supported by former Cobra Danny Sumner.

In reply, the Cobras young guns of Charlie Dewhurst and Dominic Stuart made light of the total thanks to some elegant strokeplay mixed with sharp running between the wickets, adding 57 at a run a ball.

Stuart continued his fluent approach and along with a few lusty blows from Matt Driver and Ryan Cattermole, the Cobras romped past the winning post with an over and 7 wickets to spare, with Stuart remaining undefeated on 53.

The Cobras now go on to represent the Ribblesdale League in the county stages of the competition with a home tie against Flixton from the Bolton Association.
