WHILST many cricketers have put their bat and pads away for the winter, the youngsters at Clitheroe Cobras continue to hone their skills whilst dodging the changeable weather.
An outdoor Street 20 tournament allowed the youngsters the opportunity to play against one another in a game which require more finesse and discipline than brute force and speed of bowling.
Following a marathon effort of eight games each, none of the teams could be separated.
A further around of fixtures resulted in India and Australia progressing into the final.
A closely-contested affair with the Aussies triumphing by 10 runs, brought the curtain down on an action packed day.
Cobras chairman Farouk Hussain said: “It has been a fantastic experience for all the players.
“They had to adapt their game to suit the restricted astroturf surface and surroundings, with harsh penalties for hitting the ball out of the playing area.
“It got the children thinking and became very tactical and competitive as the day progressed.”
