Clitheroe Cobras’ young cricketers donned their cycling helmets instead of batting ones and, with the support of local businesses who sponsored the event, helped to raise £750 for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

The Chatburn Road youngsters took part in an endurance cycling event around the club, to support the charity fundraising efforts of Cobras parent Rachael Stones, who herself will be walking up Mount Kilimanjaro later in the year.

Cobras Chairman Farouk Hussain said: “It was a fantastic sight to see so many youngsters giving something back to society and appreciating how fortunate they are to be physically healthy.

“On behalf of everyone associated with Clitheroe Cobras I would like to thank all the local businesses and children for their support and encourage others to donate.”
