Clitheroe Cobras collected their first piece of silverware this season when they demolished Edenfield in the Under 13 Cup Final.
The home side won the toss and chose to bat on a damp, green track, which the Cobras’ opening attack of Scorah and Dewhurst exploited with bounce and prodigious seam movement.
Run scoring was tough going for the Edenfield openers but they managed to occupy the crease.
The introduction of Smith effectively ended the game as a contest .He spun a tantalising web and grabbed himself a quickfire four wickets for the loss of one run.
Edenfield kept losing wickets and limped to a paltry 20 as their final wicket fell.
In reply, the Cobras innings got off to a solid if not spectacular reply as Poole and Neilson picked off the singles whilst displaying some Trott and Root-like running between the wickets
Despite the odd scare, the openers saw the Cobras home to a 10-wicket victory.
The Ribble Valley outfit will now represent the Ribblesdale League in the county stages of the competition.
