It’s certainly been a busy period for the Clitheroe Cobras youngsters.

The club paid a visit to Lytham CC as the LCB Under 13 Knockout entered the county wide stages.

Representing the Ribblesdale League ,the Chatburn Road outfit bowled the hosts out for 65 as Eli Smith took four wickets.

In reply the Cobras cantered to victory only losing two wickets, largely thanks to 32 retired from Harry Lang - the latest Cobra to get his county call up.

Meanwhile, Under 13s captain Charlie Dewhurst joined his Ribblesdale League team mates as they beat the Salford and Manchester League at Salesbury. He hit a maiden ton (138), backed by fellow Cobra Dominic Stuart, who chipped in with 80.

The imposing total of 307-5 was always going to be a tough ask and the visitors closed on 226 all out with Cobras’ Angus Spencer and Stuart claiming a couple of scalps.

Another Cobra to shine was 15-year-old spinner Omar Hussain, who took 3-27 on his competitive Lancs debut against Cheshire.

Cheshire were restricted to 148, and while a flurry of wickets left Lancs at 67-5, the Red Rose county came through by three wickets.

Another spinner, leggie Billy Jacks (13) was terrorising batsman from his club’s third team in a Ribblesdale League Division Three fixture for the fourth team, taking his first career five-wicket haul for a mere 23 runs!
