Captain Ian Britcliffe took seven wickets – and son Jordan Britcliiffe claimed a hat-trick – as Ribblesdale Wanderers beat Section B strugglers Earby by nine wickets at Church Meadow on Saturday.

Ian won the toss and put the Applegarth side into bat, and took the first three wickets to fall.

Lee Parkinson hit a four and ran two before being caught third ball, and Daniel Helliwell was out for a golden duck, leaving Ian on a hat-trick.

Earby professional Anton Muller survived the hat-trick ball, but the dangerman was out for five, with the score on 20.

Visiting captain Matt Garner and Sam Parry shared 17, before Jordan sent Parry, Luke Hipgrave and Michael Down back in successive deliveries.

Garner (22) was providing stubborn resistance, putting on 25 with Jake Hargreaves (17), but while Jason Lockley added 11, Ian Britcliffe ripped through the tail as Earby were dismissed for 74 in the 24th over.

Ian finished with 7-34 off 12 overs, and Jordan 3-37 off 12.

In reply, David Howard was bowled by Muller for 20 at 62, but Ryan Canning (39 not out) and Kristian Collinge (1 not out) completed the rout.

Wanderers are at School Lane to face Brinscall on Saturday.
