These are the best Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals - from ASDA, Argos, Currys, and more

This year, Black Friday (one of the most important shopping dates on the UK’s calendar following a year of coronavirus-induced retail uncertainty) will fall on Friday 27 November. Many major outlets will be offering deals throughout that weekend, as well as before and after.

Despite releasing over three years ago, and this year facing competition from the recently released PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo’s Switch console remains one of the more sought after products in the run-up to Christmas.

There will almost certainly plenty of bargains to be had come Black Friday, but to get the best out of it, you'll have to move fast: at the time of writing, we’ve already seen shoppers snap up mouth-watering deals, with some retailers’ stock of the console already depleted!

Here's a quick guide on where to find the best Nintendo Switch deals in 2020.

Aldi

Aldi isn’t the first place you might think of when searching for a new games console, but the discount supermarket will this year be offering the Nintendo Switch for £229.99.

That's £50 off the standard price currently offered by most retailers, and as such, it will likely sell out remarkably quickly when it goes on sale.

This deal is expected to go live on Black Friday itself (27 November), and with deals normally appearing on the Aldi site overnight, it may be worth checking in the early hours of that morning.

Amazon

Amazon have a wide range of console bundles available in time for Black Friday, packaging various games in with the Switch itself.

Technically, none of the below are part of the online retailer’s giant pre-Black Friday sale, but since items can be added and removed from that promotion at a moment’s notice, even sharper price cuts could be introduced without warning.

The cheapest price currently available on the original model of the Switch is £309.99. That may be above the console’s usual RRP, but in this instance it does come packed with three games: Sports Party, Rayman Legends and Monopoly.

The Switch Lite can be grabbed from Amazon for just £229.99, a bundled that comes packed with the same three games.

Argos

Argos’ Black Friday sales are expected to start on the ‘official’ date of 27 November, though the retailer has already started its toy sale, which runs throughout the month of November.

ASDA

One of the most eye-catching Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals of 2020 comes from ASDA, who are offering up savings of £40 on the original model of the console.

The retailer is selling the original version of the Switch for £239.99, down from the console’s usual £279.99 RRP.

ASDA also has the Lite model of the Switch in Turquoise, Grey, Coral, and Yellow for £169.99, a saving of £30.

Unfortunately, all of those deals seem to be out of stock at the time of writing, as this really is a formidable bargain. It's worth keeping an eye on ASDA’s stock through the above links, as if the machines come back into availability, they’ll likely fly out quickly again.

Currys

Last year, Currys got ahead of the Black Friday curve with ‘Why Wait’ deals on consoles, TVs and smartphones ahead of the big day itself.

It certainly looks like the retailer could be gearing up for a similar plan of action this year, with its Black Friday sale advice page already live, but with nothing confirmed as yet, it’s just a case of waiting and seeing.

While the official Black Friday sales won’t start until later this month, Currys has revealed a number of price cuts ahead of the big day, and several 'Kickstart your Christmas' deals are available now.

GAME

GAME are currently preparing for Black Friday, with their deals due to launch on Friday 20 November, a week ahead of the big event.

There will be bargains to snag on PS4, Xbox One and Switch consoles, and the retailer is promising its “best gaming deals” this year.

You could also head direct to the source for your shiny new Switch console, and Nintendo’s Official UK Store will be offering its own deals when Black Friday rolls around.

There's no word on what savings might be available just yet, but keep an eye on its website, where Nintendo says the bargains are “coming soon”.

Tesco

Not to be outdone by Aldi, Tesco are also rumoured to be offering Nintendo Switch Neon and Grey models for £229, though its deal kicks off slightly earlier, on Tuesday 24 November.

The deal will be available through until Black Friday itself (though stock likely won’t last that long so you’ll want to move quickly). Not only that, but there's already discounts on major games like FIFA 21.
