New Burnley High School is not a done deal

As a parent of a child who will move to secondary school next year I have been considering all the options available.

I have, therefore, taken an interest in publicity surrounding the proposed new “free” school.

I was shocked to note that nowhere are prospective parents being made aware this is still only a proposal and this school does not have a funding agreement in place.

In spite of this, the promoters are encouraging parents to sign up to send our children in September, to a school that has no funding and no premises. They are acting like this is a “done deal” and asking us to risk the education of our children.

If I put this school as my first preference and it does not open my child will be left with no choice, forced to accept whatever places are left.
