HOW proud I was on Sunday to watch my son and his team at Burnley Aquatics come second in the Micro League swimming gala at Colne swimming pool.
They were competing against teams from Blackburn, Ormskirk and Chorley, and it was Burnley’s turn to host the event – but they could not host it at their own pool because the cost was too high.
Burnley Aquatics is run by qualified instructors on a voluntary basis and they put in long hours and show great commitment to teaching our town’s children.
As a town we should be supporting this, not having to go to a neighbouring town to keep costs down.
So come on Burnley Council, stop being greedy and let’s be proud and supportive of our children.
