Am I the only one that finds it rather strange that, within days after the defection of the former Conservative MP Douglas Carswell, David Cameron declares we are now under the greatest terrorist threat ever?
While I suspect he is trying to bury bad news, the story refuses to go away and two more Tory MPs have decided to stand down at next year’s General Election.
Mr Carswell’s decision to defect to UKIP was based upon a matter of mistrust over Cameron’s pledge on holding an “in - out” referendum on our EU membership and the way it will be conducted.
And while Mr Cameron continues pontificate, the EU continues to rule us, banning high-powered vacuum cleaners, soon to be followed by high powered hair dryers.
The good news is that UKIP is likely to have its first MP elected in the Clacton by-election in October. No wonder the political are trying to bury their bad news.
