Beth Schinkel is running 200 miles from Burnley to Bristol in a mammoth challenge to help raise money for DEPHER which stands for Disabled and Elderly Plumbing and Heating Emergency Repairs.

The project is run by Burnley based James Anderson who helps the elderly, needy and vulnerable across the North West by providing a free service. Money raised for the charity pays for tools and equipment and James provides the labour free of charge.

Beth, who lives in Ightenhill, Burnley feels so passionate about the project she has set herself a target of raising £1,250 and there is already £205 in the pot.

Beth, who is mum to Megan (18), William (15), Annie and Hayden, both eight and Maggie who is almost three, said: "This is an amazing company that supports people in our community.

"It is doing such good work I wanted to help."

Beth has already clocked up 90k but still has to get 240k under her belt.

Last year Beth ran 100 miles in four days and raised £1,500 to help a Clitheroe woman who had suffered a devastating stroke at the age of 34.

Beth completed that run along the Leeds Liverpool Canal and on one day she dressed as Wonder Woman.

Beth, who works with new mums at the Burnley based Snowdrop Doula organisation, has also organised a charity night at the Bombay Lounge in Barrowford to raise funds for her latest cause.

The event takes place on Friday, August 17th, and for more information or to donate go to https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/d-e-p-h-e-r-community-interest-services/
