Women’s World Day of Prayer celebrations

Women - There will be a Women’s World Day of Prayer service on Friday, March 4th, at 2 p.m. in St Mary’s RC Church, Sabden, for women of all denominations.

Council - Sabden Parish Council meets on Tuesday, March 1st, at 7-30 p.m. in St Nicholas’s Church upper hall and it is open to the public.

St Mary’s - Refurbishment work is continuing at St Mary’s RC Church and hall. In recent weeks the community hall in Whalley Road has been redecorated and new blinds are to be fitted to the windows. The church roof has been insulated and redecorating is hoped to be on the agenda soon. Weekend volunteers are wanted to join a working party to carry out more improvements. Weather permitting, it is hoped to make a start on repainting the church windows. If anyone can help they should go along from 9-30 a.m. on Saturday. The church is running a raffle to go towards the cost of the blinds and ongoing work. Anyone wishing to book the hall for a function should call Tony Hargan on 07711 635084. Anyone who has a red mission box should return it to church as soon as possible for emptying.

Winners - The recent £20 bonus ball winners at St Mary’s RC Church were Mrs Hilda Dewhurst, Mrs Glenys Campbell and Mrs Margaret Parsons.
