Police are appealing for witnesses following a crash in Wilpshire involving a car and a tractor.

Police were called at around 1-45pm yesterday after reports of an accident on Whalley Road (A666).

A Renault car, travelling towards Blackburn, had been involved in a collision with a Claas tractor.

The driver of the Renault, a 57-year-old man from Blackburn, suffered suspected stomach injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The tractor driver, a 51-year-old man from Haslingden, was not injured.

Sgt Phil Baxendale, of Lancashire Police, said: “Did you see a collision between a car and tractor in Wilpshire?

“We want to speak to any witnesses to establish the exact nature of the collision.

“If you can help, please contact police on 101 quoting log reference 0712 of April 12th.”
