Staff at BAE made a surprise donation to local children and young people in need by collecting chocolate gifts for locally-based charity Child Action Northwest.
Sue Foster, an Executive Secretary at BAE’s Samlesbury site, made the appeal across the Lancashire bases where staff donated 300 Easter eggs to the children’s charity, whose head office is in Wilpshire
The charity’s Harriet Roberts explained that the donation of eggs came completely out of the blue: “We were overwhelmed to get this number of eggs and we are so grateful to the staff for their generosity.
“The eggs will be donated to families who benefit from various services that the charity delivers across the region. These include our Young Carers project in Blackburn with Darwen, approximately 70 looked-after children and young people in foster homes across Lancashire and Greater Manchester, young people leaving care who use the charity’s advocacy service as well as families struggling with financial hardship.”
