Post Office staff at branches across Britain will today walk out in a dispute over pensions and job security. However, Mr Azim Sheikh, who runs the village post office in King Street, Whalley, has reassured customers that they are not involved in any industrial action and is open as normal. He said: "People think we are closed, but it's business as usual for us. In fact, we will be open all week, plus Christmas Eve until 3 pm. I've taken on extra staff to deal with the high volume of customers we are expecting in the run up to Christmas."
