The Christian Aid fundraising day at Clitheroe Community Church certainly wasn’t the driest – it rained in varying degrees the whole time.
But the dedicated band of car-washers was undeterred as they cleaned around 20 vehicles over the morning. Fortunately for the visitors, they were able to enjoy a variety of home-made cakes and freshly-brewed coffee in the comfort of The King’s Centre coffee lounge.
Children had a great time, too, with “Ron Rainbow” on hand to do balloon modelling and perform his own brand of magic tricks. The craft activity tables were also very popular, so none of the children left empty-handed.
The event was for Christian Aid Week, Britain and Ireland’s longest-running fund-raising week, and more than £200 was raised to help poor communities around the world build a better future for themselves.
