'Warm spell' predicted to hit East Lancs next week

Forecasters at the BBC say it may finally be time to put your big coats away with temperatures in the area expected to climb to the high teens by Wednesday, April 18.

Residents may be able to enjoy highs of 18º C on Wednesday and Thursday next week.

Although experts warn that some cloud and breezy weather may remain across the region.

A Met Office forecaster said: "Initially, it will probably be fine and dry, with sunny spells and a reduced chance of rain or showers.

"Temperatures are also likely to be above average for the time of year. "
