Weathermen have issued a snow warning for large parts of Lancashire over the next two days, with temperatures feeling like minus five.
Arctic conditions are due to sweep across the county tomorrow morning (Wednesday) and last even as long as the weekend.
Forecasters say wintry showers will be blown in on a strong to gale force north-westerly wind, bringing snow to inland areas where some accumulations of between three and eight centimetres are likely, even on low-lying ground.
Temperatures will drop to two degrees, although it could feel like three below zero by Wednesday lunchtime and as low as minus five by Thursday morning.
Travellers and commuters are being warned there could be some disruption especially during the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning rush hours.
