A Lancashire born and bred contemporary fiction writer will visit Whalley library this week.
Author Catherine Finch, who recently launched her second novel, will visit Whalley Library on Friday from 2-30 to 3-30 pm for a special free event.
The author will be talking about her new book, speaking with visitors at the event and signing copies of the novel "Holding On Letting Go".
In the book, an area of south west France is seen through the eyes of an ex-pat family and their visitors.
Catherine's first novel, 'Walking Apart', was set in the Ribble Valley. This book explores a complex and emotional marriage of over 30 years and the struggle to make it survive.
Living in the Ribble Valley for most of her life, the author started writing full-time after a teaching career of 30 years, including being a headteacher.
County Coun. Peter Buckley, Lancashire County Council's cabinet member for community and cultural services, said: "It is so good to see a local Lancashire author hosting an event in a library. I hope that the second novel goes well."
The event is free to attend and for information call 0300 123 6703 or go to www.lancashire.gov.uk/libraries
