A collision between two cars on the M65 caused travel chaos this morning.
The collision between a light blue Renault and a black BMW occurred at Junction 8 on the westbound carriageway at approximately 7-10am. Both vehicles were badly damaged.
Traffic was backed up to Junction 12 on the westbound carriageway and traffic travelling east was also at a standstill.
A man was taken to hospital with a minor arm injury but it is not known which car he was driving.
Recovery vehicles were removing the cars from the motorway at 9am and police said they hoped to have the carriageway cleared soon.
